Rest is essential to every human being, but it holds a special importance during pregnancy. The practice of yoga has the power to allow us to deeply rest. Through restorative postures and sequences and breathwork the body can release anxiety, stress, fatigue and even trauma.
The yoga sequencing in this workshop is designed to activate the parasympathetic nervous system - our 'rest and digest' response and is tailored specifically for expectant mothers. We discuss why self care is not selfish, what self care look likes like to you and why rest is vital for maternal health.

Pregnancy and birth are two of the biggest physical and emotional journeys of womanhood, they bring huge and tumultuous changes to the body, mind and spirit. If we are willing to acknowledge and observe these changes , it can help us to build an incredible awareness of ourselves, our own physical and emotional limitations, our strengths and our weaknesses.
Yoga is just one means by which we can begin actively increasing our awareness of ourselves and participate in this process of change. In this two and a half hour workshop we look at strategies for building internal and external strength and developing a positive mindset towards our pregnancy and birth.
We discuss the physiological and psychological changes pregnancy and motherhood can bring and look at coping strategies like meditation and journaling that help us stay on track.

Pregnant women and their partners are invited to carve out some time for each other and enjoy a fun and intimate session learning and growing together.
Learn to support and respond to each other in a carefully sequenced partner yoga flow, suitable for pregnancy. We will practice some supported positions to facilitate pelvic opening and relaxation for the end of pregnancy and during labor.
Simple pain management strategies and coping techniques will be included in the practice.
This workshop is hosted by Sian and Jesse Godin, professional yoga teachers, life partners and parents.
All those attending must complete a registration form, you will be asked to give a few details about your health and your recent pregnancy. All details will be treated with the utmost respect for your privacy. These workshops are suitable for those who have reached their second trimester and beyond.
