6 Week Pregnancy Yoga Course

The practice of yoga and meditation during pregnancy can have many positive physiological and psychological effects for both mother and baby. Throughout the course you will learn how to move your body in a safe and mindful way, open up areas of tightness and strengthen areas that tend to weaken as pregnancy progresses. The course is designed to allow you to bond with other moms to be and help you form a strong network of support for yourself and your growing family.

We will look at ways to relieve common pregnancy issues such as sore backs, tight shoulders, anxiety and insomnia. Classes will always include some group discussion, breath work and a chance to relax during meditation or yoga nidra.

All those attending must complete a registration form, you will be asked to give a few details about your health and your recent pregnancy. All details will be treated with the utmost respect for your privacy.

6 Week Postnatal Recovery Yoga Course*

A baby has just been born, but so too has a mother. Self care is something that new mothers often put on the back burner, with detriment to themselves and their growing families. This 6 week course provides an opportunity to carve out some dedicated time for yourself as you recover physically and emotionally from your previous pregnancy and birth. Allow the practice of yoga to guide you to a whole new appreciation of your body as you begin your journey of recovery and rediscovery. Restorative rest and relaxation are paramount at this time, as is working towards establishing a gentle re connection with the abdominals and pelvic floor. Postnatal yoga is a beautiful way to honor your body for what it has achieved and the amazing work it continues to do.

Classes will always include some group discussion, breath work and a chance to relax during meditation or yoga nidra.

6 Week Mom and Baby Yoga Course *

Restore your energy, connect with other mothers and foster a positive attitude towards change! The objective of this course is to create a nurturing space to help you on your postpartum journey through recovery and rediscovery of your body. The classes are also a special time for you to connect with your baby through touch and movement. There will always be a chance for discussion and of course that much needed relaxation in every class.

Mom and baby classes by their nature are very relaxed and of course baby friendly! You are always welcome to feed, soothe or change your baby during class. There is generally a wide age range of babies in the class, from 6 weeks onwards. All babies up to walking age are welcome.

All those attending will need to complete a registration form, you will be asked to give a few details about your health and your recent birth. All details will be treated with the utmost respect for your privacy.

*Considerations for returning to/starting yoga after birth.*

Please allow yourself the adequate amount of healing time before attending class. Your lochia (blood flow) must have completely stopped before partaking in any serious physical activity. Bellow is a rough guide for how soon you can attend class after birth. Every birth is different and you may need more time to heal than the suggestions below, please be mindful and always err on the side of caution

.......Vaginal birth with no significant tearing 6 WEEKS

........Vaginal birth with significant tears or episiotomy 8 WEEKS

........C Section birth 10 - 12 WEEKS (scar must be well healed)
